Check the employer before you sign the employment contract

An insolvent company may struggle to pay wages. A company on the VAT blacklist has financial problems. Check the employer before you sign.

Is the company insolvent?

Active insolvency proceedings against an employer are a direct risk to your wages. Check ISIR before you sign the contract.

Does the company pay its taxes?

Being listed as an unreliable VAT payer signals serious financial trouble. A company that doesn't pay its VAT may soon have trouble paying wages.

history

How long has the company existed?

Founding date, current directors and past changes in management: find out whether the company is established or just starting out.

Where is the company really based?

Check the registered address against the official address register (RUIAN). Mass registered addresses or virtual offices are a sign of an unusual structure.

How it works

1
Look up the employer's company ID

You'll find the company ID on the employment contract, the employer's website or the job ad. Just enter it in Firmometr.

2
Check insolvency and VAT

Green means the company is fine. Red means active insolvency proceedings or an unreliable VAT payer; in that case, get advice.

3
Look at the management history

Check who runs the company and how long it has been in the commercial register. Frequent changes of directors can be a warning sign.

Check an employer for free

The basic check is completely free, with no registration.
